History
JonathanThe Lost Patrol portrays American Paratroopers from the 508th parachute infantry regiment a few days after D-Day. These troopers were stationed at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham before they jumped into Normandy on D-day. Of the 2,500 troopers at Wollaton, only 995 survived D-Day.

Aims
Our aim is to educate the public on the role of the Paratroopers and their impact on the war to ensure people never forget their sacrifices.

Our authenticity is carefully researched and our equipment matches this in depth research.

What do we do?
We offer equipment demonstrations and walk around in our kit as the paratroopers would have done. To encourage children and adults to fully appreciate what the troopers carried The Lost Patrol also brings extra weighted kit for the public to try on.

The Lost Patrol demonstrates what happened on D-Day by using resources, equipment and audience participation.

We believe very strongly in having a ‘hands on’ approach. We are happy for the public to handle our equipment while supervised and will talk about its purpose.

We can participate as ‘meet and greet’ paratroopers moving around in a crowd but we also offer a camp including a tent and contents as well as a camp side area with cooking on an open fire.
